Preparation previously occurred using a VHS cassette and sometimes a script and/or translation provided by the customer but at The Subtitling Company this has long been a thing of the past. For the past five years we have made almost exclusive use of digital video files, which we place on a FTP server for our translators. This not only means that costs are reduced but also that a considerable amount of time is saved for our customers. In addition, we also have the necessary equipment to create these video files on the basis of a VHS, digital betacam, betacam SP tape, etc. The translators start work as soon as they have downloaded the video material. |
